 WARKWORTH GARDEN CLUB


 AIM: To provide members with opportunities to share gardening knowledge and

 enjoyment through a varied programme of monthly activities.


 MEMBERSHIP: Any person may become a member on payment of the annual

 Subscription of $15.00 or $25 couple for the year ending 30 June 2020


 MEETINGS: Third Tuesday of each month – unless otherwise stated

 Car pooling: Cost per person for drivers is as stated in the Programme. 


 Bus Trips: Please book through Cheryl before paying Heather (either online or at her letterbox) and they will liaise to ensure everyone has a seat. The Club policy is not to give refunds unless there is a good reason for non attendance.

PROGRAMME - December 2019 to June 2020


December 10th: For our Christmas Celebration we will meet at Liz Price's house, 96 Thompson Rd, Warkworth. Come at 11.30am for drinks before lunch. Please bring an item to be donated to the Food Bank. There will be raffles. The cost is $25.00pp, payable to Treasurer Heather Barnes by December 2nd.


January 21st: Today we visit 2 gardens in Matakana. Meet at the car park next to Matakana School at 9.30am to car pool. BYO morning tea to enjoy in Lynne and Chris Crump's garden before visiting another garden close by. Please pay your driver $5. Raffle.


February 18th: We are today doing the cancelled October bus trip. Details again are: Meet at the Showgrounds at 8.30am for a 8.45am departure by bus. We have two gardens in Auckland to visit, the first is a West Lynn Garden in New Lynn with its many heritage trees. BYO lunch. After lunch we travel on to Totara Waters, Whenuapai. The cost is $35 which includes morning tea and entry fees. Please book with Cheryl and pay Heather $35 by February 11th. An interesting addition is the Butterfly House will be open. Raffle. Note:  Unless you asked for a refund you will automatically be on the list. A few more seats are available. 


March 17th: We visit The Paddocks, a Garden of National Significance. Enjoy walking round the two acre country garden specialising in a wide variety of plants including David Austin roses, trees for all seasons, an orchard and a potager. Cost is $10 pp. BYO morning tea. Meet at the Showgrounds at 9.30am to car pool. Raffle.


April 28th:  (the 4th Tuesday due to the school holidays) We will go to Mangawhai to visit 2 or 3 gardens, with an option for lunch at the Oasis Bar-Eatery. (More details closer to the date.) Meet at the Showgrounds at 9.30am to car pool. Please pay your driver $10. Raffle.


May 19th:  Mincher Gardens, Coatesville. Garden of National Significance. This is a large 5 star rural garden with formal and informal planting, native walkways and waterways with large Georgian house as the centrepiece. Meet at the Showgrounds at 9.15am for bus leaving at 9.30am sharp. Black Cottage Cafe for morning tea. We will then proceed to the garden. BYO lunch. Cost is $40pp payable to Heather by 10th May (includes bus, morning tea and garden entry).


June 16th:  Meet at Point Wells Hall at 10.30am. Today we have a Floral Art Demonstration to give you some new ideas for some of your own floral delights at home. After lunch Shawn Bishop is coming to share some of her life experiences. Cost $25pp payable to Heather by
