 MEMBERSHIP: Any person may become a member on payment of the annual

 Subscription of $15.00 or $25 couple for the year ending 30 June 2020

PROGRAMME - May to October 2019

May 21st. Today we visit two local gardens. Meet at the car park next to Matakana School at 9.30am in order to car pool. Please pay your driver $5. Firstly we go to Julia Snelling’s garden in Point Wells. BYO morning tea to enjoy there. Then we move on to Raewyn and Bruce Whistler’s garden a short drive away. Both gardens are flat and easy to walk around. Raffle.

June 18th. This is an indoor meeting at Totara Park. Come at 9.45 and enjoy Morning tea provided by your Committee. Then visit the Butchart Gardens (Victoria, BC, Canada), a National Historic Site and Garden for all Seasons. We will have a gold coin donation at the door for the Hall fee and a Raffle.

July 16th. Today we have another indoor treat at the movies. Meet at Matakana Cinemas by 9.45 for a showing of “ The Gardens of Piet Oudolf “, followed by lunch at the Ringawera Cafe at Morris and James. The costs are $11 for the movie and $20 for lunch. The menu will be posted later and you will need to book and pay by July 1st.

August 20th. The annual AGM at the Warkworth Golf Club. Meet at the Golf club at 10am for tea and coffee. The Business meeting will be followed by some entertainment organised by the Committee. To help us please bring a sprig of an interesting plant/flower or a seed pod etc labelled so we know what it is. There will be a two course lunch costing $22. ( Drinks at own expense). Book and pay Heather Barnes before August 8th. Membership renewal is also due. Raffle.

September 17th.

Here are the details for the September 17th Spring Trip.

This will be a longer day and will include lunch at Oasis Cafe in Mangawhai as we have found some lovely gardens in Wellsford and Mangawhai to visit.

As stated in the programme we will be meeting at the Warkworth showgrounds at 9.15am to carpool.

Please pay your driver $10 as this day will involve a bit of travelling.

There will be a cost of $25 for the day apart from the carpooling donation

Firstly we will be visiting NiKauri which is an extensive country garden in Wellsford. $5 entry fee. Wear sensible walking shoes. Please BYO morning tea.

Then we will be travelling to Mangawhai to visit a smaller quirky garden.

At about noon we will go to Oasis Cafe for lunch - cost $20After lunch we have a final large garden to visit in Mangawhai Heads.

Addresses etc will be handed out on the day. Raffle.

October 15th. Today we take a bus trip to two gardens in Auckland. Meet at the showgrounds at 8.30am for a 8.45am departure. First we visit West Lynn Garden in New Lynn with its many heritage trees. BYO lunch After lunch we travel on to Totara Waters, Whenuapai. The cost is $35 which includes morning tea and entry fees. Book and pay by October 1st. Raffle.

Due to bad weather this trip has been postponed until February 2020.

October 22nd:Movies at Matakana - 'Judy' 10.15am This features the highs and lows of the life of Judy Garland. Join us in the Cinema Foyer at 9.45am. We will be seated together. Pay at Cinema. Afterwards your choice to have lunch or coffee at one of many cafes in the Village.

November 15th Friday . . . ROSE & FLOWER SHOW 2019
