 Bus Trips: Bookings may be made by financial members at either of the two meetings prior to the trip either through Cheryl or paid directly to Heather. Please Note: Bookings cannot be accepted without full payment which are not refundable. PROGRAMME - November 2018 to April 2019

Friday November 16th:  Warkworth Annual Rose & Flower Show. The Show is held at the Warkworth Town Hall. Schedules available now. Please make an effort to enter something from your garden this year, a favourite rose or flower. Donations of potted plants are needed for our Plant Stall.

Thursday November 29th Trip to NZ Flower and Garden Show. Bus leaves Showgrounds at 9.00am. Enjoy viewing all the show has to offer, gardens, decorative arrangements and retail products. Lunches, teas and coffees available or take a picnic. Cost is $50. Book and pay Heather now while there are a few seats still available. 

Tuesday December 11thChristmas Cheer. Join us for a festive lunch at the Warkworth Golf Club. Arrive about 11.45am for a complimentary drink before lunch at 12.30pm. Please bring a gift worth about $5 if you wish to participate in gift sharing. The cost is $25 payable to Heather by November 30th. There will be a raffle.

Tuesday January 22nd  (please note this is the 4th TuesdayA Takatu Garden.  Today we visit Liz Morrow's garden on the Takatu Peninsula. Morning tea and a tour are included in the cost which is $17.  Meet at the public car park next to Matakana School at 9.30am to carpool. Please offer your driver $5. Wear sensible walking shoes suitable for a bush walk.  Pay Heather by January 16th so we can ascertain numbers going.

Tuesday February 19th - Historic Highwic and Parnell. Meet at Warkworth Showgrounds at 8.45am for 9am bus departure. First we visit Highwic House for morning tea and a tour of the house and gardens. We then travel to the Parnell Rose Gardens for a BYO picnic lunch. Seating is available but you might like to take a fold up seat for comfort. Cost is $30 (including morning tea) payable to Heather by February 10th.

Tuesday March 19th - We are going to meet at Maxine Rutherford's home at 23 Rosemount Road, Matakana at 9am to have a look at her garden. Then we will head off for a Matakana Botanicals Tour at 10am for which there is a charge of $15 per person (This includes a small gift). This seems to be a very interesting tour around the property for an hour including seeing their Eco farm, Distillery, Lavender gardens, native plant nursery, candle making and "happy" bee hives. There will be some products for sale at reduced prices, for the Shoppers of our group! They do not usually sell direct to the public. Please pay your money directly to the staff at Botanicals. You will note that we are not meeting up first for this trip - feel free to carpool if you prefer but there is plenty of parking at both Maxine's property and at Matakana Botanicals. BYO morning tea.

Tuesday April 16thHamilton Gardens. Today we visit Hamilton Gardens, a beautiful site created in the 1960's from a rubbish dump.  Wear comfortable shoes and bring a sunhat and water bottle. There is a cafe but BYO picnic if you prefer. There are plenty of places for a picnic. The bus trip is 3 hours each way but there will be a comfort stop halfway. The bus will leave the Showgrounds at 8.30am and leave the gardens about 2pm to return. Cost is $30 payable to Heather by April 8th.
